They went to Africa knowing nothing, armed only with a camera. And the three Americans came out with a story to tell, one of children being forced to fight in the civil war in Uganda.

Five years on, their work has snowballed from a film to a non-profit organisation, focusing on providing humanitarian support to the children affected by war.

It is amazing how knowledge about the film spread, first from friends and families, across schools and then through YouTube and Google. And it shows once again that one doesn’t need organisations with deep pockets to be foreign correspondents.

All it takes is the desire to look for a story to tell.
